Urban Wineries: Walking Tour

While I’m never one to say no to a weekend trip up to the wine country (or a longer road trip down to the Central Coast – you read about past excursions here and here), it does require a bit of forward thinking and planning – two things that are hard to do when, on a Friday night, you’ve convinced yourself that the only acceptable form of weekend relaxation involves wine tasting. Yes, that happens…more often than I’d like to admit.

Lucky for us San Franciscans, our city is now home to several wineries, all within walking distance of each other, the bay and many delicious restaurants. For the last minute planner, it’s the perfect way to enjoy the weather (welcome to Indian summer everyone) and some really phenomenal wine, all in your backyard. I’ve officially added the 2010 Bluxome Russian River Chardonnay to my list of favorites.
