My love of maps is not new, but I’ve just recently started to think about how to incorporate them throughout my apartment. We have a few large empty walls that are screaming for some decoration and I think a neutral colored, vintage style map would fit perfectly.

I’m absolutely in love with this one (not to mention that it’s a map of my favorite city in the world, Paris).

If you’re local to San Francisco, North Beach is home to the antique maps and prints stop, Schein & Schein. They tend to be on the pricier side but if nothing else, they always seem to have a great window display.

Here are few other “map walls” that I’m excited about right now.

  1. These are awesome. Have you ever seen wall decals? I wonder if they make antique map ones. Durell Coleman, class of ’10, makes laser etched acrylic antique maps. While neither of those are on old paper, they bring an interesting modern twist to an old relic, especially in the age of digital and 3D maps.
