Despite the significant drop in temperature in SF on Friday (I think I even felt the first sprinkle of winter rain), we still made our way out to the Marina Green for the city’s version of what is known as Le Dîner en Blanc. What once started in Paris, this soirée is designed as a glamorous affair, the location of which isn’t even disclosed until the day of. The event has now spread to 15 cities across 5 continents and San Francisco had the honor of hosting it’s very own this past week.
Excited to participate in a flash-dinner of sorts, six of us bought tickets, put on our finest whites and popped a couple of bottles of champagne. While we were all slightly disappointed upon realizing that our ticket didn’t include anything but a table on the green, we managed to pack a picnic delicious enough to forget the money spent…and the chilly SF fog. Sometimes, you really do pay for the experience.
