Farina Pizza & Cucina Italiana

The unspeakable happened last night: we walked into Farina Pizza & Cucina Italiana in the Mission, asked for a table for two and were seated immediately (it was also 6:30pm, hours before the real hipsters come out of the woodwork).

Excited to try the recently opened restaurant, we decided to order a little of everything.

~ To Eat ~

Montanara
Lightly fried pizza pie dressed with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, romano cheese, olive oil and basil

Insalata di polpo con patate
Marinated baby octopus, parsley and potatoes

Trancio di salmone con pomodori pendini e cipollotti caramellati
Grilled wild salmon served with Italian salmoriglio and caramelized onions in Gragnano vinaigrette

~ To Drink ~

Roncale, Chardonnay 2010

I can’t compare their pizza to what I consider the best in the city (**Beretta and Pizzeria Delfina**) but I was very happy with my trancio di salmone.

Next stop: the flagship restaurant, Farina.
