Brunch Favorites

Don’t you just feel trendy saying it?

This new mealtime has changed the way restaurants serve breakfast foods. I remember when there was a distinct line between the eggs, bacon and pancakes considered as “breakfast” and the sandwiches, meats and salads reserved for “lunch.” Well, that line is no more. Picture eggs on pizza, fish in scrambles and gourmet burgers at 10 AM.

Pacific Heights
Open faced omelette with smoked salmon, lemon dill cream cheese, grilled asparagus and toasted onion

Craving a more traditional breakfast bite? The fresh baked sticky bun is a must

North Beach
Basted eggs, grilled mushrooms, caramelized cauliflower, seascape cheese and grilled mushrooms (order it every time, love it every time)

Rose’s Café
Cow Hollow
Roasted Porcini Mushrooms, Rosemary & Fresh Ricotta Pizza with Arugula
Grilled Steelhead Salmon Cozy with Cucumber, radishes, red onion and aioli

Menu-wise, this café is definitely veering on the lunch side of brunch: I left much happier after eating their pizza and sandwiches-style plates than their french toast or soft scrambled eggs

Egg and Apple Press
They may serve during brunch hours, but this place is good ole’ simple breakfast

Kitchen 388
Baked eggs with olive oil and basil, tomatoes and toasted country levain

Outer Sunset
Roasted squash and portobella open-faced sandwich with garlic and oregano pistou and crescenza cheese*

Well, I may have ordered off the lunch menu…I’ll have to take a trip back for the breakfast tasting

Green Chile Kitchen (NOPA)
